«Ludwig van Beethoven» is the children's album by Charlotte Voake, published by Combel Editorial in hardback (24 pages, in Catalan).
It narrates the musical beginnings of Ludwig van Beethoven: as a child he preferred music to schoolwork, composed his first sonatas at twelve, and as a teenager was already admired by Mozart and Haydn. With illustrations and photographs, the book includes a CD that reads the text and intersperses fragments of well-known works by the composer.
It belongs to the collection «Descobrim els músics». Translation into Catalan by Dolors Martínez Pérez and Manuel Veiga Giménez.
Aimed at readers aged 8 to 10, especially those starting out in classical music.
Charlotte Voake is a Welsh children's illustrator who has won several awards including the Nestlé Smarties Book Prize in 1997.
