«Luca und Ludmilla» is the children's fantasy novel by Sybille Hein, published by Carl Hanser Verlag in hardback (184 pages, in German).
Luca is going through a rough patch: his father is sunk in depression, his mother has left, and his dream of playing the drums seems to be fading. Meanwhile, the witch Ludmilla Zwickzwack is looking for the blood of a sad child to prepare her latest potion. When Luca ends up in her tower, his positive energy and passion for music turn everything upside down, humorously asking whether a witch can become good or whether that change will attract even darker forces.
Illustrated book with an extravagant tone full of wordplay, recommended for readers aged 8 and up.
Ideal for children who enjoy magical, family stories with a touch of irony.
