«Lúa en Ningures» is the children's novel by Beatriz Maceda, published by Edicións Xerais in hardback (128 pages, in Galician).
Lúa knows every corner of her street: the bakery, the toy shop and the bar where her grandfather plays chess. When war ravages her neighbourhood, she and her family flee and arrive at Ningures, a refugee camp where hope seems lost. There, Lúa discovers the essential values of life and the importance of human rights.
It belongs to the Merlín collection from Edicións Xerais and includes 15 illustrations by Laura Veleiro. The first edition was published on 14 February 2019.
Recommended for readers aged 9 and over, and especially suitable for addressing the impact of war on childhood in the classroom or at home.
