In early 20th-century Hungary, Count Bálint Abády returns to the country as the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy crumbles. Bálint, his cousin László Gyeroffy, and Adrienne Miloth attend hunts, balls, duels, and banquets of an aristocracy that continues to live with its back to the political and social collapse that heralds its disappearance.
«Los días contados» is the first instalment of the Transylvanian Trilogy. It includes a prologue by Mercedes Monmany and a translation from Hungarian by Éva Cserháti and Antonio Manuel Fuentes Gaviño.
For readers of historical fiction and Central European narrative interested in the decline of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
