«Lord of the Flies» is the novel by William Golding, published by Faber and Faber in paperback (256 pages, in English).
A group of British schoolboys is stranded on a desert island after a plane crash. Under Ralph they attempt a democratic organisation, but Jack and the hunters impose instinct and violence. Coexistence descends into chaos and fear of an imaginary beast, in a reflection on civilisation, barbarism and the loss of innocence.
Originally published in 1954, this centenary edition of William Golding includes an introduction by Stephen King.
Modern classic for young and adult readers, especially those interested in dystopias, survival and the human condition.
