A golden bird arrives at the royal garden and begins to eat the cherries from the king's most precious cherry tree, singing and mocking. When they finally catch him, the king cooks him and eats him, but inside the royal belly, the bird does not stop singing. Enraged, the king vomits and the animal escapes flying. The next day, he returns to perch on one of the branches of the cherry tree and begins to sing, mocking the princess. She, very angry, climbs the tree and, just when she catches him, he turns into a blond prince like a golden thread. The prince explains that, as a victim of an enchantment, he had been condemned to become a bird until a princess put her hand on him. Soon they married and lived happily ever after. This story mixes tradition and fantasy in an enchanting tale that recreates the magic of the great literary classics.
