Isa Solá, a nurse and teacher from Barcelona, arrived in Haiti in 2008 and survived the 2010 earthquake, after which she set up a prosthesis workshop for amputees and worked for education, as she had previously in Equatorial Guinea. The author, who met her in her youth, portrays her vocation of service until her death in Port-au-Prince in 2016.
