The 'Llibre de l'any 2005' is an encyclopedia that continues the collection started in 2003, conceived to replace 'Dia a dia', the classic yearbook that Edicions 62 published since 1978. This edition collects outstanding events such as the election of Benedict XVI as the new Pope, the war in Iraq, the extension of international terrorism, the elaboration and approval of the new draft of the Catalan Statute, Hurricane Katrina, and the celebration of the Year of Quixote. The yearbook maintains its usual structure, remodeling the presentation of the statistical section, placing each graph or statistic next to the corresponding information. It includes images of the year, chronology, balance of the year, in memoriam, the most outstanding, anniversaries, awards, autonomous communities, states of the world, and index.
