«Lili se trouve moche» is the children's comic by Dominique de Saint-Mars and Serge Bloch, published by Calligram in hardback (43 pages, in French).
Lili feels ugly and no longer wants to take part in the school show; her friend Marlène, who is overweight, doesn't give up. The story addresses how much criticism, mockery and rejection hurt, and shows that accepting oneself, with imagination, effort, humour and friendship, helps build confidence beyond appearance.
Volume 37 of the Max et Lili series belongs to the collection «Ainsi va la vie».
Recommended for children aged 6 to 9, especially for addressing self-esteem and pressure over appearance.
