«L'home fred» is the crime novel by W.R. Burnett, published by Edicions 62 in paperback (176 pages, in Catalan).
Willie Madden has been living large for five years: hundred-dollar women, luxury hotels and latest-model cars. Neither the police nor Carl, the only survivor of the gang, have managed to track him down. Everything gets complicated when he falls in love with Dorothy, seemingly chaste and pure, but surrounded by dangerous shadows.
L'home fred was originally published in English as The Cool Man (1968); the Catalan translation is by Xavier Riu. This edition is number 130 of the Seleccions de la Cua de Palla collection.
For crime fiction readers who enjoy characters haunted by their past.
