«L'estel porquer» is the young adult novel by Núria Garcia i Quera, published by La Galera in paperback (120 pages, in Catalan).
A grandmother, her grandchildren and a fifteen-year-old neighbour see a shooting star from a city balcony. That moment awakens in the grandmother memories of her childhood in Pallars Sobirà: mischief with her six siblings and scenes from the Civil War that her own grandmother told her about, in a tender and funny story.
It is part of the El Corsari collection (number 34) and received the Premi Ciutat d'Olot 1999.
For readers aged 14 and up, although due to its close tone it can also be enjoyed at any age.
