«L'essenza della religione» is the philosophical essay by Ludwig Feuerbach, published by Newton Compton Editori in paperback (100 pages, in Italian).
Feuerbach examines religion beyond Christianity, looking at primitive religions and the classical world. He argues that the root of religious feeling is human dependence on nature, which surrounds and limits man; that awareness of finitude is, for him, the core of truth that remains in every religion.
Complete Italian edition from 1995, in the Tascabili Economici Newton collection, edited by Ferruccio Andolfi and translated by Barbara Bacchi.
For readers of philosophy and the history of religions, as well as for those who want to approach the modern critique of the religious fact.
