«Les états d'âme d'un colonial» is an essay by Maurice Delafosse, published by Hachette Livre BNF in paperback (87 pages, in French).
Delafosse analyses in the first person the figure of the French colonist of his time and presents it as a new human type. He reviews its variants, from the violent image of the adventurer to that of the ordinary man who dies far from his country, in a reflection on colonial mentality with a historical and philosophical approach.
The original text dates from 1909 and this edition is part of the BNF programme to recover out-of-print works of French literature.
Suitable for those studying French colonial history and early 20th-century philosophy.
