«Les Déserts» is a children's book by Cathy Franco and Jacques Dayan, published by Editions Fleurus in hardback (32 pages, in French).
A children's non-fiction work that introduces deserts to kids: with realistic illustrations and short texts, it covers dune and rock landscapes and shows scenes with camels, animals and characteristic dwellings. The subtitle «Pour les faire connaître aux enfants» sums up its didactic purpose.
It is part of the children's collection La Gran Imagerie and was published on 19 May 2000.
Aimed at young readers beginning to discover the desert; the short texts and realistic illustrations make first reading easier.
