«Les Acteurs de bonne foi, La Dispute, L'Épreuve» is a theatre volume by Marivaux, published by Flammarion in paperback (280 pages, in French).
This volume brings together three comedies by Marivaux; the title one, L'Épreuve, presents the loves of Lucidor and Angélique, wrapped in stratagems, jealousy and tests of fidelity. A comedy of sharp psychology and brief rhythm, it shows love examined through deception.
Edition established by Jean Goldzink in the GF-Flammarion collection, published in 1993; L'Épreuve dates from 1740.
For readers of French classical theatre, particularly those interested in Marivaux and eighteenth-century comedy.
