«Le Vin bourru» is the memoir by Jean-Claude Carrière, published in paperback (305 pages, in French).
Jean-Claude Carrière recalls his childhood in the Hérault, rural France before the Second World War, and the changes the conflict brought to a vanished way of life. Bourru wine, the first tasted in November, still young and unfinished, gives its title to this reflection on memory and what remains of a transformed world.
The work was published in 2000. The cover shows a sepia photograph of a group in a vineyard.
Aimed at readers interested in childhood memoirs and the transformation of rural France during the twentieth century.

Jean-Claude Carrière was a French novelist, screenwriter and actor. He received an Academy Award for best short film for co-writing Heureux Anniversaire (1963), and was later given an Honorary Oscar in 2014.
