«Le petit hippopotamtam» is the children's picture book by Yves Pinguilly and Alex Godard, published by Albin Michel in hardback (32 pages, in French).
Katsi is a small hippopotamus of the African savannah whom everyone calls «el hipopotamtam» for his habit of marking rhythms by beating his belly. Despite his size, he is an exceptional musician. When a fire in the savannah leaves him alone and isolated, his talent allows him to attract the help of a giraffe to survive and return to his own.
For young children, a story that addresses loneliness, overcoming, and recognition of one's own talents.
