«Le Grand Système» is the essay by Georges Balandier, published by Fayard in paperback, with 274 pages, in French.
Balandier argues that science, technology and economic expansionism have opened new worlds: life sciences, computing, intelligent systems and communication. All share the logic of a planetary Grand System, the real face of globalisation. Understanding that logic restores initiative in the face of uncontrolled power-to-do.
Work originally published in French in 2001; the Fayard paperback edition has 274 pages.
For readers interested in anthropology, sociology and critical analysis of globalisation and social change.
