«Las puertas del sueño» is the short story collection by David Hernández de la Fuente, published by Kailas Editorial in hardback (192 pages, in Spanish).
Twenty interlinked stories use dreams and their doors as access to other realities, peering at the border between life and death. The tales range over Alexander the Great's Indian loves, interwar Germany, Brooklyn and a poet's ghost, among motifs of fear, deceit, mask and mirror.
The book, published in 2005, belongs to the Kailas Ficción collection (no. 7) and won the VIII Premio Narrativa Joven de la Comunidad de Madrid.
For readers of contemporary fiction who enjoy short story collections in which the dreamlike and mythological combine with mystery.
David Hernández de la Fuente is a Spanish writer, translator and university lecturer who is specialized in Classics.
