«Las confesiones de un pequeño filósofo» is Azorín's lyrical novel, published by Espasa-Calpe in paperback (144 pages, in Spanish).
An autobiographical work in which Azorín evokes his childhood and youth, the formation of the intellectual and his struggle with his environment. Instead of a conventional plot, he composes brief scenes of impressions, landscapes and emotions, with short sentences and abundant adjectivization, shifting the anecdotal towards intimacy.
It belongs to the Austral Collection (number 136), edited by José María Martínez Cachero. The work was originally published in 1904 and closes Azorín's autobiographical trilogy begun with La voluntad.
For readers of Spanish lyrical narrative, especially those who want to approach the Generation of '98 through a brief and intimate work.

José Augusto Trinidad Martínez Ruiz, better known by his pseudonym Azorín, was a Spanish novelist, essayist and literary critic.
