«L'année du mistouflon» is a children's novel by Anne-Marie Chapouton, published by Flammarion in paperback (153 pages, in French).
In Lourmarin they capture a mistouflon, a blue creature with six legs, curly hair, a bulging belly and a twisted tail, that talks, eats cigarette butts and drinks «Picole». It is so funny that they decide to keep it, but when word spreads, the director of a zoo demands that they hand it over; hiding it becomes a problem.
The work is illustrated by Gérard Franquin. It belongs to number 45 of the Castor Poche collection, from the Castor Poche Flammarion imprint.
Aimed at children aged 7-8 who read French, with humour and a fantastic creature as the protagonist.
French translator and children's writer (1939–2000)
