«La veu melodiosa» is a novel by Montserrat Roig, published by Edicions 62 in paperback, 160 pages, in Catalan.
Espardenya, an orphan with a deformed appearance, grows up in an artificial paradise created by his grandfather, who hides mirrors from him and isolates him from the world. When he reaches university in the 1960s, reality breaks in and confronts him with good and evil. With symbolic style and multiple narrative voices, Roig combines a sentimental education with a generational chronicle.
The novel was published in 1987 in the El Balancí collection (number 197).
