«La tienda de los suicidas» is the black comedy novel by Jean Teulé, published by Bruguera in paperback (160 pages, in Spanish).
The Tuvache family has run for generations a shop dedicated to selling everything needed to take one's own life: ropes, poisons, weapons and other tools. The Tuvaches pride themselves on their professional efficiency, but their routine is shaken when the youngest son, a cheerful boy who laughs at everything, questions the business philosophy.
Novel translated from French by Teresa Clavel Lledó, with original title «Le Magasin des suicides», in the Bruguera Narrativa collection.
For readers of contemporary fiction who want to laugh at a premise as unconventional as a shop selling suicide supplies.
Jean Teulé was a French novelist, cartoonist and screenwriter. He was the partner of actress Miou-Miou.
