«La sireneta» is the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen, adapted by Sara Torrico and illustrated by Carmen Guerra, published by Susaeta in hardback (Catalan).
A young mermaid lives at the bottom of the sea and dreams of knowing the human world. When she falls in love with a prince, she is willing to sacrifice everything, even her voice and her home, for that love. Drawing on the mythology of mermaids and their hypnotic song, Andersen gave these creatures a new meaning, linked to sacrifice and love.
Published in 2014, it is part of the Llegir amb Susaeta collection, level 2, dedicated to short narratives for readers aged 8 to 9.
For children aged 8 to 9 who can already read and are looking for short narratives in Catalan.
