«La Parada i altres narracions» is a short story collection by Joaquim Ruyra, published by Editorial Selecta in paperback (182 pages, in Catalan).
Ruyra portrays fears, desires and gazes: falling in love, poverty, the terror of Girona's residents as the end of the world approaches, and the shrewdness of Jeroni Baltrons, who uncovers the deepest part of souls. In the title story, some boys set up a trap to catch birds and face the ruthless Llambregues.
The work originally appeared in 1919; this fifth edition was published in Barcelona in 1979.
It is a reference work for readers interested in classic Catalan narrative and Ruyra's prose.
