This volume is dedicated to memory in the construction of experience and is divided into two parts: the first develops a detailed historical-philosophical path on memory, while the second addresses its declination within the debate of cognitive sciences. The nature of the essays collected here follows the methodological need of the Mario Tobino Foundation to make the history of medical-psychiatric sciences interact with other human sciences such as philosophy and psychology, without neglecting, beyond the critical-hermeneutic investigation, also the historical-reconstructive one. While taking into account the vast bibliography on memory, this work intends to offer an interdisciplinary perspective of investigation, comparing different theoretical orientations - from Plato and Aristotle to Spinoza, from Hegel and Royce to Carla Lonzi - in order to identify in the history of thought, including feminist thought, the foundations of a reflection destined to subsequently merge also into the neuro-biological debate and even into the legal one.
