«La liste» is the satirical anti-dictionary by Julien Gosselin, Pierre Martin and Johann Trümmel, published by 10/18 in hardback (272 pages, in French).
The work presents itself as a series of profiles of proper names that portray contemporary French society with irony. Each entry turns the name into a humorous and sometimes cruel portrait, suggesting that the appellation conditions the character and destiny of its bearer. The project began as the blog Namelist before becoming a book.
Published in 2012, the French 10/18 edition consists of 272 pages in hardback.
For readers who appreciate intelligent humour and social observation: an enjoyable read combining literature and sociology.
