In 'La inteligencia fracasada' (The Failed Intelligence), José Antonio Marina explores the reasons behind our mistakes and the persistence in self-destructive behaviors. Why do we make so many mistakes? Why do we insist on making our existence bitter? Why do intelligent people do such stupid things? Why do we stumble a hundred times over the same stone? The author analyzes cognitive and affective failures, failed languages, and errors of will, both on a personal and political level, offering a taxonomy of stupidity and seeking to reduce human vulnerability. Marina invites us to reflect on how intelligence can triumph and how we can contribute to it.
