«La huida» is the young adult novel by Antonio Martínez Menchén, published by Austral Juvenil in paperback (100 pages, in Spanish).
Paco, tired of city routine and frightened by the poor results of an exam, runs away from home in a fish truck. His escape lasts only two days, but in that time he meets characters he will not forget; the story, realistic at first, gradually becomes imbued with a fantastic tone close to ancient myths.
Illustrated edition by Francisco Meléndez, number 53 of the Austral Juvenil collection.
For young readers seeking a brief coming-of-age adventure with a fantastic touch.
