«La guerra de nunca acabar» is the youth theatre play by Alfredo Gómez Cerdá, published by Editorial Everest in paperback (112 pages, in Spanish).
Kings Pirulo and Ventoso wage an endless war whose origin no one remembers. The soldiers, overcome by the heat, agree to a truce to bathe in the border river; contact between the peoples opens the way to friendship. The satire ridicules the absurdity of war and defends peace and understanding.
Winner of the ASSITEJ Spain Prize for children's and youth theatre 2001. It belongs to the Punto de Encuentro / Teatro collection and was published in 2002. Recommended reading from age 14.
For young people from 14 and for shared reading in the classroom: a humorous fable about the absurdity of war and the value of peace.
