Synopsis of La felicità delle piccole cose

Paris. Snow falls softly on the city, covering the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame, and the Panthéon in white, like a postcard. A man walks along the Seine towards his home, an elegant building on the Île Saint-Louis. He is Frédéric Solis, a successful lawyer with a passion for Impressionist paintings. Charming, wealthy, and talented, Frédéric seems to have everything one could desire from life. He lacks a family, but after being abandoned by his father many years earlier, he preferred to surround himself with luxurious objects and beautiful women rather than put his wounded heart on the line again. Until one day, he discovers he has received a strange inheritance, consisting of a handful of mysterious notes and a drawing that looks like a map. What will those clues hide? Convinced he is on the trail of a forgotten Monet painting, Frédéric decides to try to decipher the map. With the help of his young and eccentric assistant Pétronille, he begins a journey through the snowy landscapes of Northern France, among the favorite places of his beloved Impressionists: Éragny, Vétheuil, Monet's garden, with a mandatory stop at the Musée d'Orsay. From encounter to encounter, from surprise to surprise, memories that Frédéric thought he had forgotten will resurface, along with a treasure far more precious than any wealth.
