«La fam» is the play by Joan Oliver, published by Proa in paperback (160 pages, in Catalan).
La fam premiered on 15 June 1938 at the Teatre Català de la Comèdia, now Poliorama, the same year it was published. Considered one of the best Catalan plays staged during the War and Revolution of 1936-1939, it is among the few that reflect the revolution as artistic material and human experience.
2002 edition with introduction and work proposals by Francesc Foguet i Boreu. Part of the Les Eines collection, number 25.
With a didactic approach, it is suitable for students of Catalan literature and readers interested in Civil War theatre.
Joan Oliver i Sallarès, also known by his pseudonym Pere Quart, was a Catalan poet, playwright, literary manager, translator, narrator, and journalist. He is considered one of the most important twentieth-century writers of Catalonia.
