In a small Alsatian town, Manfred Baumann, a solitary man, sits every night watching Adèle Bedeau, a waitress at the local bar. The novel belongs to the French noir tradition, with echoes of Simenon and Chabrol.
First instalment in the Inspector Georges Gorski series. Originally published in English as The Disappearance of Adele Bedeau; this French edition is a translation by Julie Sibony.
