«La dame de cœur» is a collection of short novels and stories by Daniel Boulanger, published by France Loisirs in paperback (190 pages, in French).
After the death of the fortune-teller Zoé, her niece Marthe inherits the caravan and, although she lacks gifts, predicts happy futures for her clients. She lives with Marcel, a lazy man who changes jobs to dodge unemployment. The caravan becomes a vaudeville theatre where laughter, betrayals and melancholy mix.
The subtitle is «Courts romans et autres nouvelles»; the work was originally published in 1989 and this edition is from 2004.
For readers of French fiction who enjoy humorous stories, eccentric characters and a tone close to vaudeville.
Daniel Boulanger was a French novelist, playwright, poet and screenwriter.
