«La biomaestra» is the children's novel by José Luis Maestro Sarrión and Pepe Maestro (Edelvives, paperback, 110 pages, in Spanish).
Blas, a fifth-year pupil, says that his school has seventeen female teachers and one that many consider odd: Nadiel, his teacher, who practises yoga with the class, tends a vegetable garden and greets her pupils with apples and cushions. Under her gaze, the school routine becomes a peculiar madhouse where diversity and individuality have a place.
It belongs to the Ala Delta collection, green series (no. 75). It includes illustrations by David Guirao Tarazona and was published on 25 January 2010.
Aimed at readers aged 10 to 12, it suits those who enjoy school stories, humour and ecology.
