«La Alianza de Civilizaciones de las Naciones Unidas: Una mirada al futuro» is the essay by Máximo Cajal, published by Biblioteca Nueva in paperback.
The book explains the origin of the UN Alliance of Civilizations as a reaction of the Spanish prime minister to the 2004 Madrid attacks and to the thesis of the clash of civilizations. Against the US military response of 2001, it defends a diplomatic and multilateral path based on dialogue between cultures.
Máximo Cajal was ambassador to Guatemala, Sweden and France and personal representative of the Spanish prime minister for the Alliance of Civilizations between November 2004 and July 2009.
A work for readers interested in international relations, contemporary history and political philosophy, as well as intercultural dialogue.
