«Josefine Mutzenbacher» is the erotic novel by an anonymous author, published by Gallimard Education in paperback (288 pages, in French).
The protagonist, a young Viennese woman, recalls in the first person her initiation into desire and the relationships that mark her path to adulthood. The deliberately explicit narrative portrays the sexual morality of the era and the double face of a society that condemns in public what it practises in private. Published anonymously, the work has become a classic of erotic literature.
Work originally appeared in 1906 under the German title «Josefine Mutzenbacher oder Die Geschichte einer wienerischen Dirne von ihr selbst erzählt». This edition belongs to the Folio collection (no. 3057).
For readers of erotic literature and European classics, as well as for those who wish to approach a work of disputed authorship.
