«Jolly Snow» is the illustrated children's story by Jane Hissey, published by Red Fox in paperback (40 pages, in English).
It is winter and Jolly Tall, the toy giraffe, has never seen snow. While waiting at the window, his friends decide to make a homemade snowfall: Little Bear shows him a snow globe, Zebra makes snow with flour, and Old Bear cuts out paper snowflakes. None of these imitations seems good enough.
The work was originally published in 1991; this Red Fox edition is from 1998 and belongs to the Old Bear and Friends series.
Story recommended for children aged 2 to 6 and for those seeking winter tales featuring toys.
Jane Hissey is a British author and illustrator of children's books. She is best known for her series of children's books Old Bear and Friends, which became the basis for a BAFTA award-winning television series Old Bear Stories, episodes of which were released on VHS by Carlton Video.
