«Joana E.» is the novel by María Antònia Oliver Cabrer, published by labutxaca in paperback (320 pages, in Catalan).
María Antònia Oliver reconstructs in this work the life of Joana, a real woman she met, and does so by giving her the floor so that the narrative flows with her way of speaking and feeling. The result is an intimate portrait that accommodates doubts, contradictions, happiness and misery, fears and indignation, with everything she wanted to share and what she preferred to hide.
Winner of the Prudenci Bertrana Prize 1991.
