«Je vous demande le droit de mourir» is the testimonial book by Vincent Humbert and Frédéric Veille, published by Seine in paperback (187 pages, in French).

After an accident leaves him tetraplegic, Vincent Humbert sends a letter to the French president on 30 November 2002 asking for the right to die with dignity. Immobilised, he receives daily care from his mother and assistance from a friend, with whom he communicates through signs; he maintains that when medicine can no longer relieve his suffering, he should be allowed to choose the end.
