«Isabel la Católica: una reina vencedora, una mujer derrotada» is the historical biography by Alfredo Alvar Ezquerra, published by Temas de Hoy in hardback.
The book starts with an infanta not destined to reign and narrates her rise to the throne of Castile. Alfredo Alvar Ezquerra analyses her marriage to Ferdinand of Aragon, the union of the kingdoms and the construction of modern Spain, and contrasts the queen's triumphs with the personal dimension of a defeated woman.
The book was published in 2002 in the Historia collection of Temas de Hoy and includes a prologue by Joseph Pérez.
For readers of Spanish history and biographies of women who wielded power.
