«Isabel, camisa vieja» is the fictionalised biography of Queen Isabella I of Castile by Fernando Vizcaíno Casas, published by Planeta in paperback, in Spanish.
Vizcaíno Casas reviews the life of Isabella the Catholic and those around her with documentary rigour and a journalistic approach, sprinkled with humour. The almost novelistic narrative presents the Queen of Castile from perspectives close to current affairs and turns her career into an accessible, entertaining portrait.
The work belongs to Planeta's «Memoria de la Historia. Personajes» collection. It includes an index and bibliographic sources.
Suitable for those seeking an accessible and entertaining approach to the figure of Isabella the Catholic and the history of Spain.

Fernando Vizcaíno Casas (1926–2003) was a Spanish labour lawyer, journalist and writer. His writings were generally supportive of Francoist Spain. During the 1970s and 1980s he collaborated with the director Rafael Gil on a number of films that supported this point of view. He wrote ...Y al tercer año, resucitó, Niñas… ¡al salón!, De "camisa vieja" a chaqueta nueva, 1975/El año en que Franco murió en la cama, and Viva Franco, con perdón, between others.
