«Io, Nelson Mandela. Conversazioni con me stesso» is the autobiography of Nelson Mandela, published by Sperling & Kupfer in paperback (444 pages).
The work brings together material from Nelson Mandela's personal archives: letters, diaries, notes and recordings. Through these documents, it shows the private man behind the public figure, from his beginnings in political struggle to his role on the international stage, including the years in prison. It portrays his doubts and sacrifices without idealising him.
The book is in Italian, belongs to the Super Bestseller collection by Sperling & Kupfer and includes a preface by Barack Obama.
For readers of biographies and history, especially those interested in the figure of Mandela and the fight against apartheid in South Africa.

Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was a South African anti-apartheid activist, statesman, and revolutionary who was the first president of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. He was the country's first Black head of state and the first elected in a fully representative democratic election. His administration focused on dismantling the legacy of apartheid by fostering racial reconciliation, a national peace accord and eventual multiracial democracy. Ideologically an African nationalist and socialist, he served as the president of the African National Congress (ANC) party from 1991 to 1997.
