Synopsis of Il ragazzo di Guantanamo. La vera storia di Mohammed El-Gorani

This graphic novel tells the true story of Mohammed El-Gorani, a 14-year-old boy who, after leaving Saudi Arabia to study in Pakistan, is wrongly arrested following the September 11, 2001 attacks. Transferred to the Guantanamo military base, he becomes one of the youngest prisoners in the detention center, where he struggles to survive for eight years before his innocence is recognized. Written by Jérôme Tubiana and illustrated by Alexandre Franc, it is a poignant and necessary account of justice, the loss of freedom, and the exercise of power.
