«Il compleanno di Valentina» is the children's story by Angelo Petrosino, published by Piemme in hardback (53 pages, in Italian).
Valentina is excited because it's her birthday: her mother has prepared a party, all her friends will come, and the celebration promises surprises. The simple, cheerful narrative accompanies that special day and shows the protagonist with her birthday cake, butterflies and her cat, in colourful illustrations.
It is part of the «Piccola Valentina» series, within the «Il battello a vapore» collection. It was published in 2003.
Recommended for early readers: an everyday, optimistic story with a child protagonist, suitable for accompanying the first steps in reading.
