A woman is preparing for a trip. She doesn't need luggage; she is only leaving for one night. One thing obsesses her: taking Ida, her 18-month-old daughter, to the sea. It is necessary, almost vital. Ida does not exist; Ida has never existed. Voices keep repeating it to her. Yet, she has carried this baby, held her close, changed her, breastfed her. She loves her with an animal love. One is not prepared for such a love. It is too powerful. 'Ida n'existe pas' is a dive into the troubled psychology of a mother ready to commit the irreparable, but also the story of a female body seeking to free itself from its demons, of a complex femininity in search of peace.
