«Història de Catalunya (modèstia a part)» is a humorous historical essay by Toni Soler, published by Columna in paperback (246 pages, in Catalan).
The work reviews the history of Catalonia without solemnity and admits that, apart from a couple of centuries of Catalan prominence in the Mediterranean, it is not an epic history. Even so, it claims it as its own and dwells on its anonymous protagonists: relatable Catalan men and women, with virtues, flaws and plenty of comic flair.
The edition described is from 1998 and belongs to the Columna catalogue.
A book for those who want to approach the history of Catalonia through humour and popularisation.
Toni Soler i Guasch is a Spanish journalist, television producer and writer.
