«Historia cómica de los Estados e Imperios del Sol» is the science fiction novel by Cyrano de Bergerac in paperback, published by Espasa-Calpe in 2005.
Locked up by censors, a man builds a machine and travels to the Sun, where he discovers extraordinary transformations, a utopian society of birds and trees that tell strange stories. It is a fantastic adventure and at the same time a philosophical reflection on freedom of thought, desire and imagination.
Work originally published in 1662; this facsimile edition reproduces the 1924 one from the Colección Universal (nos. 971 and 972), with a translation by Juan Chabás.
For readers interested in classic science fiction, 17th-century French literature and facsimile editions.
