«Hartjeuk & zieleczeem» is a book of columns by Dutch writer Youp van 't Hek, published by Thomas Rap in paperback (156 pages, in Dutch).
The title combines two invented words that do not appear in the dictionary, but whose meaning anyone understands. In these columns, published in the Dutch press, Youp van 't Hek comments on current affairs with humour and irony, creates neologisms such as «hartjeuk» and «zieleczeem» and reflects with them the essence of his time.
Collection of columns originally published in the newspaper NRC Handelsblad; this paperback edition was published on 12 October 2004.
For readers with a command of Dutch who enjoy current-affairs satire and wordplay.
Joseph Jacobus Maria "Youp" van 't Hek is a Dutch author, columnist, singer-songwriter, playwright, critic and former comedian.
