«Oelikoelie en andere goden» is a collection of satirical columns by Youp van 't Hek, published by Thomas Rap in paperback (159 pages, in Dutch).
The book brings together the columns Youp van 't Hek published every Saturday in NRC Handelsblad, with his satire on current affairs: politics, television, the Schiphol fire or the death of George Best, alongside a tribute to Gerard Reve. The column that gives the book its title reflects on faith as a support and not as a weapon.
It is the thirteenth compilation of Youp van 't Hek's columns that appeared in NRC Handelsblad; the piece that gives the book its name was published on 11 February 2006.
For readers of satirical humour and opinion columns, with a special interest in the cultural and political life of the Netherlands.
Joseph Jacobus Maria "Youp" van 't Hek is a Dutch author, columnist, singer-songwriter, playwright, critic and former comedian.
